rubbish
Except it's not. There's no rubbish in the natural world. Just an exchange of energy. (did you notice that bit in Avatar where she says that everything is just an exchange of energy? We liked that.) But we do have a spectacular knack of making loads of it. Rubbish, that is. And we are hugely inventive. We can make rubbish out of absolutely anything.
We can make it out of paper, food, paint, furniture, frocks and pasties; woollie hats, tools, socks, curtains, pills and potions, bananas, batteries, magazines and powerdrills. And having lots of visitors coming on holiday means, (ouch), that we end up making even more rubbish than we do all by ourselves. And all that rubbish takes up loads and loads of room, leaks nasty things into our gorgeous luscious world around us, and means - duh - we have to go and make (and pay for) those things all over again. Eeesh. So here are a few ideas as to how to not make quite as much rubbish.

spare food is share food!
Putting fresh milk where it belongs. This is one of those efforts by a small group of determined people that is turning something toe-curlingly wasteful into a thing for good. Sows ears into silk purses. We like things like that.

We believe that good food, good company and happy times go hand in hand with really considerate use of the energy, water, waste and people that go into making them. We’re doing our bit – and then we’ll do even more!
